ERWIN MACUA: A STORY OF INSPIRATION

Image
Erwin Macua This guy is all over the news both in Cebu and reached national news too. I know him because he is one of my Dads in College. Yes, I'm a Theresian & I'm proud to be one. Kuya Erwin Macua worked as a security guard in St. Theresa's College Cebu for 17 years. I remembered during my freshmen year that he would check on me all the time. He doesn't do that to me but to all Theresians he met. He would constantly remind to prioritize studies because its what you can give back to your parents. There are times when I have 7:30am classes in the morning & I would be in school a hour early so I stayed with him in the guardhouse & catch up on him. Also, there are times I would treat him breakfast since the both of us didn't have breakfast yet. When St. Theresa's College accepted boys in School Year 2013-2014, Kuya Erwin took the opportunity to continue his studies. By the way, he took Civil Engineering in Holy Name University back in th

March 30, 2017 Devotional: Light of the World How can I, as a Christian, have the greatest impact on my community? God's Response: Pay your debts, except the debt of love for others. - Romans 13:8 NLT Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks about your Christian hope, always be ready to explain it. But do this in a gentle and respecful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if peole speak against you, they will be ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ. - 1 Peter 3:15-16, NLT God's Promise: You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father. - Matthew 5:14-16, NLT Reflection (made by the blogger herself): When we hear stori

March 28, 2017 Devotional: Being Neighborly How should I live among my non-Christian neighbors? God's Response: If you see your neighbor's ox or sheep or goat wandering away, don't ignore your responsibility. Take it back to its owner. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see you honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. - 1 Peter 2:12, NLT Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Image
March 1, 2017 Devotional: Mood Swings My emotions go up & down. How can I best handle them? God's Response: But many of the older priests, Levites, and other leaders who had seen the first Temple wept aloud when they saw the new Temple's foundation. The others, however, were shouting for joy. The joyful shouting and weeping mingled together in a loud noise that could be heard far in the distance. - Ezra 31:2-13, NLT I cannot keep from speaking.
